Position Summary

US Tiger Securities, Inc. is seeking an experienced and operationally focused Senior MySQL DBA. This role sits at the center of our data infrastructure, responsible for the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical MySQL and Redis environments that underpin our trading and operations platforms. You will be the primary owner of database operations, taking full accountability for availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence across production systems.

You will work closely with software development, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure database systems are optimized, well-monitored, and aligned with the firm’s evolving technical and business requirements. From SQL performance tuning and replication management to disaster recovery planning and capacity analysis, your work will directly impact the resilience and efficiency of our core systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and optimize MySQL clusters (Replication, GTID, High Availability solutions).

• Administer Redis clusters (Replication, Sentinel, Cluster mode).

• Diagnose and resolve production issues including slow queries, replication lag, lock contention, resource bottlenecks, and instance failures.

• Perform SQL optimization, index tuning, and execution plan analysis.

• Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Monitor database health using Datadog / Prometheus / Grafana and improve alerting frameworks.

• Develop automation scripts (Shell / Python) to enhance operational efficiency.

• Conduct capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and cost evaluations (cloud vs. self-managed).

• Manage database security, access control, and audit requirements.

• Lead incident response and produce structured post-incident analysis.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of MySQL production operations experience.

• Strong understanding of InnoDB internals (transactions, locking, MVCC).

• Experience with MySQL replication and high-availability architectures.

• Hands-on SQL performance tuning experience.

• Production Redis experience.

• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills.

• Scripting ability in Shell or Python.

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a must, as the role will involve communication with Mandarin-speaking parties and Chinese-language documentation.

Preferred:

• Experience with database middleware (ProxySQL, MaxScale, etc.).

• Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker / Kubernetes).

• Experience with performance benchmarking and TCO analysis.

• Monitoring stack implementation experience (Datadog / Prometheus / Grafana).

• Contributions to technical documentation, blogs, or knowledge bases.
