Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and Neo4j databases in production environments
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning
- Design, implement, and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
- Configure and maintain replication (streaming/logical), clustering, and failover mechanisms
- Ensure systems meet defined RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
- Conduct regular backup, restore testing, and DR drills
- Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and database parameters
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues
- Administer Neo4j clusters, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance
- Support graph data modeling and Cypher query optimization
- Monitor and tune graph database performance
- Implement and enforce database security best practices (authentication, authorization, encryption)
- Perform regular audits and vulnerability assessments
- Automate database deployments and configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or scripting
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD integration
- Work with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Implement monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
- Provide 24/7 support and incident resolution for critical database issues
- Root cause analysis and preventive measures for recurring incidents
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (8+ years preferred)
- Experience with Neo4j or other graph databases is preferred.
- Proven expertise in High Availability architectures and clustering
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
