Note: Candidate is required to travel to London twice a week for onboarding and training.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Big Data Developer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of large-scale data processing solutions.
This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in Python, Big Data technologies, and distributed data processing frameworks who are passionate about building scalable, high-performance data platforms in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Big Data applications and data pipelines.
- Build and optimize large-scale data processing solutions using modern Big Data technologies.
- Develop high-performance applications using Python and Java.
- Process, transform, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability across data platforms.
- Follow software engineering best practices and Agile development methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Big Data or software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python (mandatory).
- Experience with Java.
- Experience working with Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Hive.
- Good understanding of distributed data processing frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Scala.
- Exposure to Kafka or other streaming technologies.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
Additional Requirements
- UK-based candidates only.
- Must be willing to travel within the UK based on project/client requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
