Job Summary

The Data Governance / Data Security Consultant will lead the definition of target state data access and protection model across Power BI and Snowflake The consultant will facilitate stakeholder workshops develop governance principles assess governance and access tooling define operating models and processes and produce a road map for implementation.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide data access and data protection principles.
• Design the target-state data governance operating model.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability frameworks.
• Define governance capabilities and maturity objectives.
• Develop governance decision-making structures and accountability models.
• Create implementation roadmaps for governance and security initiatives.
• Design role-based access control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC) frameworks.
• Define data access approval and provisioning processes.
• Establish segregation of duties (SoD) controls and governance requirements.
• Define privileged access management principles and controls.
• Design periodic access reviews, certifications, and attestation processes.
• Define audit, compliance, monitoring, and reporting requirements.
• Develop governance tooling evaluation criteria and assessment frameworks
• Evaluate governance and security platforms including: Collibra, Microsoft Purview,AvePoint, Immuta
• Conduct capability assessments and comparative analysis.
• Assess native platform capabilities versus third-party solutions.
• Produce recommendation papers, business cases, and implementation roadmaps.
• Design end-to-end data access request and approval processes.
• Develop onboarding and offboarding governance procedures.
• Define exception management and policy waiver processes.
• Design cross-platform governance processes for Snowflake and Power BI.
• Establish federated and centralized governance operating models.
• Facilitate workshops with executives, business leaders, security teams, and platform owners.
• Drive consensus on future-state governance and security models.
• Present findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies to senior leadership.
• Act as a trusted advisor on data governance, security, and operational best practices.

Skills Required

• 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics environments.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Security, or Information Management.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data governance programs.
• Strong experience designing governance operating models and frameworks.
• Experience facilitating executive and stakeholder workshops.
• Solid understanding of information security and security architecture principles.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
