Platform Engineer

About The Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Platform team. In this role, you will design, build, and operate robust Kubernetes-based platforms that support our SaaS offerings, internal applications, and developer platform. You will also contribute to solutions that combine our SaaS platform with Cyviz's custom-built hardware, giving you the opportunity to tackle interesting technical challenges in areas such as hybrid deployments, performance, and security. This position is central to Cyviz's transformation journey from an AV integrator to a technology company delivering SaaS offerings. You will play a key part in ensuring that our platforms are secure, scalable, and reliable, while also contributing to our internal knowledge culture by sharing insights and best practices.
This is a distributed team without a single central office, so we're looking for someone who can work independently, communicate proactively, and stay connected with colleagues across different locations without relying on day-to-day in-person collaboration. We value the right attitude and drive just as much as ticking every technical box. Being close to one of our offices is a plus, not a requirement. We'd rather find the right person than limit ourselves to one location.
Key Responsibilities
Kubernetes & Containers
- Build, operate, and improve Kubernetes clusters (cloud and on-premise)
- Work with container technologies (Docker) and GitOps practices
- Explore and adopt new CNCF technologies (Argo CD, Falco, Grafana Loki etc.)
- Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Empower stream-aligned product teams to adopt the developer platform, including implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Help lift-and-shift existing on-premise installations to our SaaS
- Implement observability solutions using Grafana, Loki, etc.
- Collaborate on security, networking, and performance improvements
- Share knowledge through documentation and workshops
Required
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies
- Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (we are using Azure)
- Comfortable working with Linux and the CLI
- A self-motivated, independent way of working, since you won't always have close colleagues in the same office
- 3–5 years of professional experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
- Understanding of networking and security best practices, including secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)
- Experience with CNCF tools and the cloud-native ecosystem
- Contributions to open source or comfortable giving technical talks
- Curious about how cloud-native tech can be adapted to secure on-prem appliances
- Genuinely curious and driven — the right attitude matters more to us than a perfect match on paper
- Comfortable working autonomously with minimal day-to-day oversight
- A strong sense of ownership over your own work
- A proactive communicator who stays connected with a distributed team across locations
- Open-minded, collaborative, and a strong problem-solver
- The opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies
- Being part of a fast-paced, rapidly growing, global technology company
- A flexible, hybrid way of working, including the option to work from home, balanced with what works for the team
- International work environment
- A chance to work directly with some of the world's most recognized enterprises
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- A truly global impact — our solutions are used in mission-critical environments around the world
