Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced L3 Database Administrator to join our
infrastructure and engineering team. The role involves advanced support and engineering
across multiple database platforms including PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL,
Cassandra, Oracle, Oracle Cloud and others. The ideal candidate will be responsible
for maintaining database health, performance, security, and availability, as well as leading
incident resolution and participating in strategic planning and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations of database systems.
• Ensure database availability, performance, and security across heterogeneous
environments.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues including crashes, deadlocks, and
performance bottlenecks.
• Apply security patches and perform regular maintenance tasks.
• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g.,
clustering, replication, failover).
• Conduct audits for data integrity and consistency across platforms.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for change implementation and
incident resolution.
• Lead root cause analysis and provides permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Participate in capacity planning, space management, and performance tuning.
• Maintain and update documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in CAB meetings and provide expert input on database-related changes
• Lead the technical DB Team and be first point of contact for critical situations
Must have at least 2 of 3 technologies:
• PostgreSQL – HA, Replication
• Oracle – DataGuard, Oracle OCI
• MSSQL – Upgrades, Performance tuning
Preferred Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, including replication, HA, and performance tuning.
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008–2019+), including Always On,
replication, log shipping.
• Working knowledge of MySQL and Cassandra in production environments.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and Oracle Cloud
• Working knowledge of Azure Cloud
• Experience with backup and restore strategies using native tools and third-party
solutions.
• Familiarity with database security, access control, and auditing.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural, business-critical environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Oracle (12c–19c), Oracle Cloud Control and PostgreSQL.
• Exposure cloud database services (AWS RDS [Oracle@Azure], Azure SQL, Google
Cloud SQL).
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and reporting.
• Experience with monitoring tools and performance dashboards.
• Knowledge of backup platforms (TSM, Networker, pgbackrest) and storage
integration
