Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop core database platform components.
- Design and enhance database kernel capabilities.
- Build and optimize SQL processing, query execution, and query optimization frameworks.
- Design highly scalable distributed database architectures.
- Improve database performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on architecture and product strategy.
- Drive engineering best practices, design reviews, and technical mentorship.
- Influence the long-term technical roadmap of the database platform.
Required Technical Skills
Core Database Engineering
Hands-on experience developing one or more of the following:
- Database Kernel
- SQL Parser
- Query Optimizer
- Query Execution Engine
Systems Programming
- Strong hands-on experience in C and/or C++
- Linux Systems Programming (preferred)
Distributed Database Systems
Experience with:
- Distributed Databases
- Massively Parallel Processing (MPP)
- Parallel Query Execution
- Distributed Transactions
- Scalability
- High Availability
Product Engineering
Experience in:
- Commercial Software Product Development
