Data & Software Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect with strong Software Architecture and AI/ML capabilities for a leading investment bank. The consultant will work within a complex financial data environment, contributing to the design and modernization of critical data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end data architecture strategies, from conceptual to physical design
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures on Azure and AWS
• Lead data modeling initiatives (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) across multiple business domains
• Establish data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across the organization
• Architect and oversee the build of data pipelines, lakehouse environments, and real-time streaming solutions
• Drive software architecture decisions in close collaboration with engineering teams
• Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into sound technical architecture
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation, reference models, and design patterns
• Conduct architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise standards

Technical Skills Required

• Architecture (mandatory): proven experience as both Data Architect and Software Architect — candidates with only one dimension will not be considered
• Data modeling: strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Cloud architecture: Azure and AWS, including infrastructure design and cloud-native patterns
• Data platforms: Databricks, SageMaker, S3, Microsoft Fabric
• Reporting & visualization: Power BI
• Languages: Python and C#
• AI/ML: model development & deployment, MLOps, LLM integration, AI-driven pipeline architecture

Profile

• 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a Data or Software Architect role
• Demonstrated ability to own architecture decisions end-to-end, not just contribute to them
• Previous experience in investment banking or financial services strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, able to present architecture decisions to both technical and executive stakeholders
