This is a full‑time Azure Databricks Architect role for our client $160K W2, 100% onsite in Miami — focused on architecting and building enterprise‑scale Azure Databricks data platforms with strong hands‑on engineering depth.

🧩 Role Summary
A senior Azure Databricks Architect who owns end‑to‑end architecture and hands‑on development of scalable, secure, high‑performance data platforms on Azure. You’ll define platform strategy, build frameworks, optimize Spark workloads, enforce governance, and lead modernization across analytics capabilities.
🔧 Core Responsibilities
- Azure Databricks architecture across ingestion → transformation → storage → serving → governance
- Reusable frameworks & ELT patterns to accelerate delivery
- Hands‑on Spark pipeline development with performance & cost optimization
- Azure ecosystem design: Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, ADF
- Governance & security standards (RBAC, quality, code reviews)
- Cross‑functional collaboration with BAs, engineering, functional teams
- Troubleshooting & production support for complex workloads
- Cloud modernization leadership across data/analytics
🎓 Must‑Have Qualifications
- 12+ years data engineering / architecture
- Deep hands‑on Databricks, Spark, Python/Scala, SQL, Delta Lake
- Proven cloud data lake / data hub design
- Strong Azure DevOps + CI/CD experience
- Ability to architect + build (not just oversee)
- Strong communication & stakeholder alignment
⭐ Preferred
- Financial services / insurance background
- Experience with Event Hub, Cosmos DB, Synapse
- Azure / Databricks certifications
- Experience with reusable frameworks, shell scripting, production support
