Overview

The Database Engineer provides technical expertise in database administration, performance, reliability and operational support. The role focuses on maintaining secure, stable and efficient database platforms in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain database platforms.
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning and optimization.
• Manage backup, restore, replication and availability activities.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and service requests.
• Implement database changes and support migration activities.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure and security teams.
• Document database procedures and operating standards.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement.

Mandatory skills

• Strong experience in database administration or engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of SQL, performance tuning and monitoring.
• Experience with backup, restore and high availability concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot production database issues.
• Understanding of database security and operational controls.
• Good documentation and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills in English.
