Software Technical Lead

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Lead, Embedded Software, to join its R&D Engineering organization and support the industrialization of innovative embedded products.

This role combines technical leadership with hands-on embedded software engineering. You will lead the software work package within multidisciplinary product development projects while actively contributing to the design and implementation of embedded software solutions.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in embedded C++ development, Matlab/Simulink, model-based development, and requirements engineering, together with proven experience coordinating embedded software teams and driving successful project execution.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the embedded software activities within product development projects from concept through industrialization.

• Drive the planning, estimation, execution, and successful delivery of embedded software work packages.

• Guide and mentor embedded software engineers, ensuring high standards of software quality and timely delivery.

• Translate system requirements into detailed software requirements and maintain full traceability throughout development.

• Plan and coordinate software sub-projects using a structured waterfall development approach.

• Manage software scope, effort estimation, resource planning, technical risks and project milestones.

• Collaborate closely with system engineers, electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Support software architecture, implementation, integration, verification and validation activities.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.

Required Experience

• 5-8 years of professional experience in Embedded Software Engineering.

• 5-8 years of Technical Project Management or Technical Lead experience.

• Proven track record delivering embedded software projects in industrial or product development environments.

• Experience leading software teams while remaining technically hands-on.

• Strong execution mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality results under project constraints.
