Join us as a DCS Business Development Manager / Lead and become the trusted advisor who transforms customer challenges into breakthrough solutions. The DCS Business Development Manager / Lead is responsible for growing and sustaining the East Asia Data Center Solutions business by developing market opportunities, strengthening go-to-market execution, building country and partner competence, and positioning integrated solutions that combine power, cooling, racks, PDUs, prefabricated and modular data center capabilities. The role acts as the zone domain leader for DCS business development, connecting offer strategy, customer needs, country execution and sales enablement to deliver profitable growth.
What will you do?
Business Development and Market Growth
- Identify new market segments, partners, projects and business opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, commercial, industrial and edge data center segments.
- Build and execute annual and quarterly DCS business plans by country, segment, offer family and strategic account.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis and voice-of-customer sessions with end users, consultants, EPCs, partners, distributors and resellers.
- Advise country sales, channel, segment and partner teams on GTM strategies, account plays, solution positioning and opportunity creation.
- Track business plan progress, pipeline quality, conversion, win themes, blockers and corrective actions with country and zone leadership.
Integrated Solution Development and Presales Alignment
- Support complex data center opportunities by aligning technology value propositions across 3-Phase Power, Cooling, Rack Systems/PDUs and Prefab/MDC.
- Collaborate with presales, application centers, engineering, factories, supply chain and execution teams to ensure competitive, compliant and executable solutions.
- Support customer and consultant workshops, technical-commercial presentations, solution narratives, bid strategy and handover alignment where required.
- Identify opportunity risks, competitive gaps and cost optimization levers early in the sales cycle.
Offer, Lifecycle and Program Management
- Work with Line of Business, product management and offer management teams to deploy global and regional offers into East Asia markets.
- Support product launches, offer transitions, end-of-life planning, pricing feedback, volume forecasting and local sales readiness.
- Create or localize sales tools, positioning materials, partner programs, market plays and training assets to accelerate adoption.
- Provide structured country feedback on feature needs, competitive gaps, pricing expectations and market requirements.
Marketing, Communication and Demand Creation
- Work with marketing communication teams to shape campaigns, value proposition messaging, events, webinars, thought leadership and customer programs.
- Develop segment-specific messaging for strategic themes such as AI-ready infrastructure, energy efficiency, modular deployment, resilience, sustainability and lifecycle performance.
- Represent the business in regional sales, customer, consultant, channel and industry events, as required.
Competency Building and Community Leadership
- Build competency across country BD, sales, presales and channel teams using a practical Education, Exposure and Experience approach.
- Coach and mentor in-country business development managers and solution teams to raise the bar on strategic selling, solution positioning and execution discipline.
- Create a zone DCS community rhythm for knowledge sharing, competitive updates, launch readiness, wins/losses
and best-practice replication.
What are the key skills we are looking for?
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, preferably across power, cooling, rack systems, PDUs, modular/prefabricated solutions and integrated architecture.
- Proven business development capability, including market segmentation, customer targeting, offer positioning, pricing principles, channel strategy and program execution.
- Ability to set vision and strategy, influence without authority, convince senior stakeholders and mobilize cross functional teams across countries.
- Strong competitive analysis, business case development, launch management, lifecycle management, forecasting and performance governance skills.
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, workshop facilitation, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong ownership attitude, ability to build relationships and willingness to take initiative in ambiguous or fast-changing markets.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Technology or Business. MBA or postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Business or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in IT, data center, electrical infrastructure, cooling, industrial infrastructure or solution business development.
- Regional experience across East Asia or APAC is preferred, with demonstrated ability to work across cultures, countries and matrix organizations.
- Demonstrated track record of creating or scaling new business opportunities, programs or portfolios, ideally with primary responsibility for multi-million-dollar growth initiatives.
- Experience engaging senior customers, consultants, partners, internal executives and cross-functional technical commercial teams.
