Hiring: Embedded Connectivity & Communications Software Engineer

Location: Fond du Lac, WI (Correct location)

Employment Type: W2 or 1099

We're seeking an experienced Embedded Connectivity & Communications Software Engineer to support the development of next-generation marine electronics and connected systems. This role involves designing and developing software applications that run on embedded platforms and communicate with CAN-based systems, smart devices, and cloud services.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications on embedded platforms.
• Develop connectivity solutions using Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and Cellular technologies.
• Build applications that interface with embedded devices, mobile devices, and cloud services.
• Work with modern software development tools, source control, and CI/CD practices.
• Participate in software architecture, design reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Skills (Non-Negotiable)

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience
• Strong C/C++ programming experience
• Python development experience
• Embedded Linux
• RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems)
• Socket CAN
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• BlueZ Bluetooth Stack
• Networking protocols and communications:
• TCP/IP
• HTTPS
• SSL/TLS
• MQTT
• FTP
• Wi-Fi

Experience developing software for connected embedded devices

Preferred Qualifications

➕ Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers

➕ Connectivity, communications, or IoT product development experience

➕ Experience working with electronic control systems

➕ Familiarity with Code Composer Studio, Git, SVN, Azure DevOps, or similar development environments
