Overview

The Senior IT Auditor supports the planning and execution of IT audit engagements on behalf of Internal Audit, providing hands-on execution and expert insight on IT governance, risk management, and control practices. This role is highly visible to senior management as the Company continues to transform its finance capabilities and drive confidence in the integrity of key information systems. The Senior IT Auditor is expected to operate with a high degree of independence while collaborating closely with the IT Audit Leader and broader team.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Execute IT audit procedures across a range of engagements, including assessments of IT general controls, application controls, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand IT processes, identify potential risks, and document findings with clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare and organize audit workpapers in accordance with internal audit standards, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and well-supported.
  • Assist in the development of risk-based audit programs and test procedures that address key controls aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Build analytics and automations, not just within the IT controls space, but to support efforts across Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, and beyond.
  • Communicate audit status, issues, and observations to the IT Audit Leader in a clear and timely manner.
  • Support the monitoring of agreed-upon IT audit recommendations and assist in verifying the effectiveness of management's corrective actions.
  • Contribute to IT general controls readiness efforts related to future system implementations and the organization's path toward SOX compliance.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, audit standards, and best practices in IT governance and cybersecurity.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, SOC report reviewers, and other consultants to support a cohesive approach to IT risk management and assurance.
  • Build relationships across the business to facilitate the timely identification and escalation of audit risks and operational challenges.

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in IT audit, risk, or a related field; public accounting or consulting background preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of IT audit methodologies and frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL.
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of IT general controls (ITGCs), SOX compliance concepts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA or CIA preferred or actively in progress; CPA a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical IT issues into business risks and control observations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings in a clear, concise manner.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and audit leadership.
