Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer for one of our clients in Raymond, Ohio.

Rate Range: $55.00/hour to $60.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

This role is responsible for planning, designing, developing, testing, and validating innovative software systems and applications with a strong focus on end-user experience. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing existing products and developing new cloud-based and internet-connected solutions that deliver intuitive, scalable, and high-performance user experiences.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, engineering, and business stakeholders, the Software Engineer will contribute to strategic product differentiation by creating user-centered applications that drive customer satisfaction and business success.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications with a strong emphasis on user experience, usability, and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams to translate business and customer requirements into innovative software solutions.
• Enhance existing applications and create new cloud-based products that support organizational objectives and customer needs.
• Develop intuitive user interfaces and seamless user interactions using modern development frameworks and technologies.
• Build and maintain scalable front-end and back-end components within full-stack application architectures.
• Integrate applications with cloud services, APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Apply Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban practices, to deliver high-quality solutions in iterative release cycles.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement effective solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Ensure software applications comply with security standards, cybersecurity best practices, and industry regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by researching emerging technologies, UX trends, and software development best practices.
• Document technical solutions, system designs, and development processes to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Python with good exposure to C++, with experience applying them across diverse development environments.
• Practical experience working within Agile environments, utilizing methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with deployment automation, cloud services integration, and modern software delivery practices.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including database design, optimization, and data access strategies.
• Experience developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) using modern frameworks and tools focused on usability, accessibility, and performance.
