About Oliver
Oliver automates workflows for veterinary clinics that nobody else has been able to get right.
We saw the missing pieces in this industry from the outside and chose to bring our skills to the veterinary industry to solve them. The veterinary industry has some truly unique opportunities for great software to make a difference. Many people have been burned by human healthcare software companies that expanded their horizons into vet, promising the moon, only to realize that it’s a lot different than human healthcare at the core. They cannot offer the same feature complexity in pet healthcare, and that’s one reason why Oliver wins over the hearts of those we serve.
Our customers love Oliver. We solve real problems, and their feelings about us back that statement up. “Bless you and your progeny.” “I’m so happy I could cry.” “We love [Oliver]. Actually, it’s probably the best thing that has ever happened to us.” “I will never be able to say how amazing this group is and how much of a life saver they have been.” “If everything new could be handled the way Oliver is, that would be great.” “Have I mentioned lately that you’re the coolest? Because legit, you are, in fact, the coolest.” “You guys are the best and [competitor] is MySpace.”
We’re a seed-stage startup around 3 years in. We’re nailing it, adding customers quickly, and excited to bring more people onto the team to build with us and help our customers.
We’re hiring full-stack software engineers right now to build more stuff. We have customers hungry for new things from us: greenfield ideas waiting to be explored, new features, integration depth, technical enhancements, and more.
Engineering Culture
You’re joining the founding CTO. Do the math on how much of this product ends up being yours. Here’s what you’d be adding to: we ship every day, all the time. We love building product. We build in a way that allows for shipping quickly and efficiently. We have remarkable uptime because we build safety nets that keep us from worrying that shipping quickly is going to break something serious. We’re proud of our platform and what it does, and we feel empowered to deliver what matters.
We work together to decide what’s most valuable to build for our customers. Each person on the team owns the full product lifecycle and gets to reap the rewards of that. There is no wall between us and our customers, so that makes it easy to understand the problems we’re solving. When you’re building software end-to-end with ownership like this in the modern era of AI coding tools, it’s as much fun to code as the “good old days” pre-AI (or more so). We aggressively adopt engineering usage of AI tools however they help you and the team be the best we can be.
Hard work is super fulfilling when you can direct it at something that makes a difference. We work hard while at work, and are committed to protecting time outside of business hours for whatever is most important to us personally. It doesn’t have to be crazy at work.
