Flight Software Engineer (NewSpace)

Greater Los Angeles Area | Full-Time | Permanent


NewSpace Technical is partnering with an innovative NewSpace company to recruit a Flight Software Engineer for a confidential opportunity developing advanced space technologies.


You'll design, develop, integrate, and test mission-critical embedded software, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle.


Key Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing embedded software within aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Experience with embedded Linux and/or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Knowledge of embedded communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I²C or similar).
  • Experience with software integration, testing, debugging, and modern development tools such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Experience with flight software, firmware, FPGA integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, or safety-critical development environments is advantageous.


This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging NewSpace programmes within a collaborative engineering environment.
