Firmware Embedded Software Engineer III 

IDR is seeking a Firmware Embedded Software Engineer III to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Durham, NC. This role involves developing and maintaining embedded firmware for aerospace products and systems, focusing on motor control firmware and working within highly regulated environments.

Position Overview for the Firmware Embedded Software Engineer III:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for advanced aerospace products and systems
• Develop firmware supporting motor control circuits and embedded control applications
• Collaborate with electrical, hardware, and systems engineers throughout the product development lifecycle
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded firmware using laboratory equipment and development tools
• Support integration, verification, validation, and testing activities

Requirements for the Firmware Embedded Software Engineer III:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline preferred
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Strong experience developing firmware for motor control circuits or motor control systems
• Advanced proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development
• Experience working with microcontrollers, embedded processors, and real-time embedded systems
