As a Machine Vision & Image Processing Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimise intelligent vision systems that combine advanced optics, industrial imaging hardware, and software algorithms. Working across hardware and software disciplines, you will help deliver next-generation inspection solutions for demanding industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise machine vision algorithms for automated inspection and measurement applications.
- Design and implement image processing solutions to improve defect detection, classification, and measurement accuracy.
- Integrate industrial cameras, optical systems, lighting solutions, and image acquisition hardware.
- Analyse imaging data to improve inspection performance, reliability, and system capability.
- Support the development and deployment of automated inspection systems within production environments.
- Improve vision algorithms through optimisation, testing, and validation.
- Collaborate with AI, software, optics, and hardware engineering teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Support customer applications, system integration, and technical troubleshooting activities.
Requirements
- Experience developing machine vision systems, image processing solutions, or automated inspection technologies.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Experience with vision libraries and platforms such as OpenCV, HALCON, Cognex, or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of industrial imaging systems, cameras, optics, and image acquisition techniques.
- Experience analysing and processing complex image data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering mindset.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with AI-based vision systems, machine learning, or deep learning approaches.
- Knowledge of semiconductor inspection, optical metrology, robotics, or precision automation.
- Experience with camera calibration, optical alignment, and measurement systems.
- Familiarity with industrial automation environments and production integration.
