An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer – Photonic Applications has arisen with an innovative photonic computing company developing next-generation AI processing systems that compute with light, based in Stuttgart.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Senior Software Engineer – Photonic Applications to bridge cutting-edge photonic hardware and real-world AI applications. You will optimise AI algorithms for photonic processors, develop high-performance software, create developer tools and technical demonstrations, and work closely with customers and partners to showcase the capabilities of this revolutionary technology.

This is a hybrid position, requiring you onsite 3-4 days per week.

Experience of the Senior Software Engineer – Photonic Applications will include:

• Strong software development experience with Python
• Experience with C/C++ or Rust for performance-critical applications
• Deep expertise in AI algorithms and scientific computing with understanding of hardware acceleration architectures and performance optimisation
• Experience working with customers, stakeholders, partners or developer communities
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
