The Role
• Modernize air traffic control systems by enhancing the availability and performance of a critical national infrastructure platform.
• Support system upgrades, including hardware, software, OS levels, firmware, and security.
• Optimize air traffic flow and decision-making capabilities for controllers and the aviation industry.
• Develop and maintain air traffic control software primarily using Ada95/C++ on a UNIX/Linux platform.
• Leverage scripting languages like KSH, PERL, and PYTHON for automation.
• Coordinate solutions with systems engineering and develop new capabilities for common services.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrated software development skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Flexibility to work across multiple software languages.
• Experience with real-time programming, multi-threading, and low-level operating systems (Linux).
• Familiarity with communication protocols (TCP-IP, UDP, SCTP) and SW/HW integration.
