Job Description: IS4S is seeking an Integration Engineer in Auburn, AL or Aberdeen, MD to assist development and integration of capabilities supporting Army and Joint warfighting functions. The person or persons filling this position will join an existing, multi-disciplinary team to perform integration activities covering software, networking, and hardware. Responsibilities include
- Analyzing interconnections among complex, integrated systems to define integration pathways and identify gaps
- Support software, networking, and potentially hardware development needed to integrate existing systems together
- Reading, decomposing, and explaining ICDs, APIs, and protocols
- Creating technical documentation explaining existing integrations, designed/planned integrations, or gaps preventing integrations
- Developing test strategies and conducting benchtop, developmental, and operational tests to validate integrations
- Communicating and interacting with customers, stakeholders, and other companies
Required Abilities, Experience, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)
- In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for part-time applicants)
- Ability to comprehend complex systems and identify interconnections and functions of both internal and external systems/subsystems/services
- Knowledge of programming languages and software design to support development and integration of system drivers and adapters needed to communicate across systems
- Experience with programming languages and build tools (e.g., C++, cmake)
- Ability to decompose engineering documentation to identify and explain needed tasks
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal direction
- Must be able to travel to support customer engagements, integration and testing in live environments, occasionally working non-standard hours to match exercise schedules
- Must be able to lift and carry computing and networking equipment in support of transit and installation
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- US Citizenship is required
- Knowledge of computer networking, routing, and IP-based communications
- Understanding of various hardware electronic interfaces and protocols
- Understanding of tactical networks, including enterprise, satellite, terrestrial, and mobile, ad hoc networks (MANETs)
- Demonstrated integrations between systems requiring adapting/translating between multiple data models to enable communication and joint system operation
- Familiarity with Army compute systems and compute environments
- Familiarity with standard DevSecOps practices and platforms (e.g., git)
- Experience with Mission Command or C2 systems, especially those dealing with Fires and Electromagnetic Warfare
