Software Engineer (Database) at BairesDev

As a Software Engineer (Database), you will be responsible for the development and optimization of core database engine internals. You will play a key role in designing high-performance storage and retrieval systems that handle complex data operations at scale.

What You'll Do

• Develop and refine core engine components, including storage engines and query optimization logic.
• Implement robust concurrency control mechanisms using Multi-Version Concurrency Control (MVCC) to ensure data consistency.
• Design and maintain reliable data persistence layers, focusing on Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) and B-tree/LSM tree structures.
• Engineer distributed data systems by building and optimizing efficient replication protocols.
• Enhance the database's ability to handle complex SQL semantics and low-level resource management.
• Collaborate with systems architects to improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the database engine.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on database engine internals.
• Proven expertise in systems programming using C, C++, or Rust.
• Deep understanding of storage engine internals, including B-tree/LSM trees and MVCC.
• Proficiency in implementing replication protocols, WAL, and deep SQL semantics.
• Strong background in query optimization and low-level resource management.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
