Tantalus Media is a games powerhouse here in Australia. Founded in the mid 90's we've been fortunate to work on titles such as Age of Empires, City Skylines, Lego 2k Drive, Luigis Mansion 2, The Legend of Zelda and more. As part of the Keywords Studios Global Team, we continue to grow with studios now located in Adelaide and Brisbane with Melbourne being our Home Base.
These positions can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane or Melbourne.
What's even more exciting are our recently secured AAA projects and future growth plans.
We're looking for several experienced Senior Game Engineers who are eager to help us deliver the consistent level of quality and service our Tantalus Team are renowned for across the globe.
You will join our growing team of developers (30+) and work on projects from remasters, porting, DLC and expansion pack projects. Our projects are wide ranging in terms of game engines, and genres providing you with plenty of learning opportunities.
Whether you are a generalist or specialist AAA Games Engineer, we'd love to hear from you. We're currently seeking specialists in Rendering, UI, Animation, or Gameplay. Current projects are in Unreal Engine and we will prioritise those with extensive UE experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Working closely with producers, game designers and artists to implement game features using C++
- Testing, debugging, refining, optimising and maintaining game functionality on console and PC platforms.
- Staying up to date with new technologies and architectures
- Following Tantalus and Keywords Studios standards and best practices
- Assisting and mentoring other programmers in your areas of expertise
Skills, Abilities
- Excellent programming skills in C++ with seven years or more experience
- Unreal Engine, Custom Engine experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Well honed skills in at least one game related discipline (e.g., 3D Maths, AI, Physics, UI, Rendering etc.)
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code
- Demonstrated ability to create and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and pleasant personality
- Ability to ramp up quickly with unfamiliar code bases or technical skills.
- A genuine enthusiasm and passion for the games industry
Qualification
- Bachelors Degree is Software Engineering or Game Design (Programming)
