As an Embedded Android Engineer, you will specialize in low-level Android platform development, working across AOSP, system services, and hardware abstraction layers. You will serve as the link between the Android framework and hardware-specific implementations, ensuring seamless integration and high-performance customization for diverse devices.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop low-level system services and core components within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) framework.
  • Implement and optimize Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) to provide standardized interfaces for device-specific hardware.
  • Develop and customize device drivers and kernel-adjacent software to support unique hardware requirements and custom ROMs.
  • Debug and resolve complex system-level issues across the Android stack using tools like adb and performance profilers.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to perform platform bring-up and ensure stable boot sequences on new silicon revisions.
  • Optimize system performance, stability, and resource usage for embedded Android environments such as automotive infotainment.

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on Android systems or embedded platforms.
  • Proven expertise with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), including build systems like Soong or Make.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ within a systems programming context.
  • Hands-on experience developing and modifying Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) components and system services.
  • Deep understanding of low-level Android internals, device drivers, and kernel adjacency.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
