Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated CVE Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in C/C++ programming and Linux to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software development, vulnerability analysis, debugging, and secure coding practices. The role involves identifying, analyzing, and remediating Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) in Linux-based products.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, reproduce, and remediate reported CVEs affecting Linux-based products.
- Develop and maintain software components using C/C++.
- Perform root cause analysis of security vulnerabilities and implement fixes.
- Debug complex issues using tools such as GDB and Linux debugging utilities.
- Work closely with product development and security teams to ensure timely vulnerability remediation.
- Perform code reviews with a focus on secure coding practices.
- Validate fixes through testing and regression analysis.
- Monitor security advisories and evaluate their impact on the product.
- Maintain technical documentation related to vulnerability fixes and security updates.
Required Skills
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in C/C++ development.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and Linux internals.
- Good understanding of Operating System concepts, including processes, threads, memory management, and file systems.
- Experience with debugging tools such as GDB.
- Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and multithreading.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), CWE, and CVSS.
- Exposure to secure coding standards and vulnerability remediation.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, sockets).
- Knowledge of static analysis and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Experience with embedded Linux or networking products is an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
