SW Engineer III – C++ Developer

📍 Location: Irving, TX

🏢 Work Model: Onsite (5 Days/Week)

📅 Contract: Long-Term

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced C++ Software Engineer III to design, develop, and enhance enterprise-grade software solutions. This role requires strong expertise in modern C++, Python, test automation, and software design, along with the ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive projects from design through delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of C++ development experience in a Windows environment
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Modern C++ (C++11+)
  • 3+ years of Python development experience
  • Experience leading projects, mentoring team members, and conducting code reviews
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin)
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Google Test or CppUnit
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with TCP/IP socket programming and networking concepts
  • Agile/Scrum development experience
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Java or .NET
  • Retail, POS, or Convenience Store industry experience
  • Payments, payment processors, or payment device integration experience
  • Cloud-based application development
  • High-volume, high-availability systems
  • PCI compliance, secure software development, and data encryption

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable C++ applications and product features
  • Own software solutions from design through implementation and deployment
  • Develop and automate BDD test scenarios
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
  • Troubleshoot complex software and system issues
  • Perform code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices
  • Participate in architecture, design, testing, and release planning activities
  • Support production applications and drive timely issue resolution
