Your team

The applications team within the Automotive Ethernet Solutions group is responsible for providing technical support to the field application team, sales team and directly to customers worldwide. Our team is well recognized within the automotive market as experts and belongs to the cross-industry community that introduces novelties in car networking. The location of this vacancy is Hamburg, Germany.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for customer application support activities and system solutions for Ethernet switch and physical layer products and their application in In-Vehicle Networks (IVN)
  • Respond to technical questions from our customer base, perform code and schematic reviews
  • Reproduction and verification of issues reported by customers; on-site support to identify and debug problems both in software and hardware
  • Create customer facing technical documents such as application notes, white papers, FAQ’s, product trainings, etc.
  • Responsible for the development of reference designs and product or solution demonstrators
  • Cooperate with other application teams within NXP and external 3rd parties to create complete system solution packages
  • Contribute to trainings and workshops with automotive manufacturers and their electronic subsystem suppliers
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities through conferences, trade fairs, articles, etc.

Required And Desired Skills And Experience

  • Experience in hardware & embedded software development using automotive semiconductors & electronics
  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet switches, Ethernet physical layer products and embedded microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of Ethernet network implementations
  • Knowledge of the automotive market and applications is plus
  • Software knowledge; working with microcontrollers C/C++; Low Level Drivers, Real Time Operating System
  • Ideally some hands-on experience of high speed board design and layout
  • First experiences in dealing with customers
  • Proven problem solving and debug capabilities

Your education and personality

  • University degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science or similar
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-cultural mind-set
  • Independent working style, fast learner, creative and open for new ideas
  • Fluent in English

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
