About the Role

Phi Partners is supporting one of the world's largest and most influential sovereign wealth funds, whose diverse portfolio spans every major asset class across every major geographical region. Among their strategies is a trading and capital markets operation built on advanced quantitative platforms and technology systems. With a strong emphasis on data-driven insights, their Quantitative Research & Development team uses machine learning, artificial intelligence and algorithmic models to identify trends, optimise portfolios and generate alpha across diverse asset classes - with particular depth in fixed income (bonds, FX and credit). These platforms analyse vast amounts of financial data efficiently, enabling strategic, risk-managed investment decisions at scale in fast-changing markets. They benefit from strong senior sponsorship and are central to the fund's competitive edge. The client's Total Portfolio Operations team is a central function managing investment support activities across the organisation. To meet growing technological demands, they are looking to onboard an AI Engineer to design and implement new solutions and support business technologists within the investment support space.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic generative-AI workflows and tooling for fixed income portfolio managers and researchers - supporting portfolio analysis, research, and market and portfolio data
• Delivering new functionality, data capabilities and modules, as well as smaller enhancements and fixes to existing modules
• Engaging with IT and business stakeholders and taking ownership of deliverables
• Understanding business problems and offering technical solutions
• Contributing to continuous improvement in coding standards, practices and SDLC maturity
• Working in partnership with quants and traders to build, support and maintain a quantitative trading and risk optimisation platform
• Improving productivity through automation where applicable

Required Skills

• Strong Python, with hands-on experience integrating LLMs (e.g. GPT-4, Claude) into production AI pipelines
• Track record building generative AI applications in financial services; fixed income (bonds, FX, credit) preferred
• Experience designing agentic and multi-agent systems using LangChain
• Building RAG pipelines over structured and unstructured data with Azure Cognitive Search
• Designing conversational memory and long-term context solutions (semantic retrieval, extended / large-context models)
• Strong Microsoft Azure background (Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Search)
• CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and observability tooling for deployment in regulated environments
• Fine-tuning or adapting LLMs to specific tasks using modern techniques (LoRA, PEFT)
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including collaboration, facilitation and negotiation

Pay range and compensation package

Salary range is 2.5mn+ HUF per month - actual number will depend on your skillset and interview performance.
