You'll be working on resource-constrained embedded platforms, helping shape system architecture, and developing robust, high-quality software for real-world hardware applications.

The Role

As Embedded Linux Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing software for embedded systems, working closely with hardware and firmware teams to deliver reliable, well-architected solutions.

You'll bring strong object-oriented development skills and genuine embedded Linux expertise to a business that values engineering rigour and long-term product thinking.

Essential Experience

  • Experience developing for embedded Linux systems, with in-depth knowledge of system architecture design

  • Experience developing for resource-constrained embedded platforms
  • Experience developing large-scale applications using Git version control

Desirable Experience

  • A strong appreciation of the hardware environment your software runs within
  • Professional experience developing applications in C#
  • Development within the Debian ecosystem, including CI/CD
  • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience developing for HMI-based systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of XAML/WPF development using the MVVM pattern
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe
  • Knowledge of machine-to-machine communication protocols and technologies (e.g. Fieldbus, industrial Ethernet protocols, MQTT)

What's on Offer

  • Salary up to £60,000, dependent on experience
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working — 2 days from home per week
  • The opportunity to work on complex, meaningful engineering challenges within a stable, product-focused business

If you're an embedded software engineer with a strong grounding in Linux systems and object-oriented development, and you're looking to bring your skills to a business building genuinely impactful products, we'd love to hear from you.
