What You'll Do
NexusWave delivers fast, always-on connectivity by seamlessly integrating multiple high-speed networks in real time – Global Xpress (GX) Ka
band, low-Earth orbit (LEO) services, and as-available coastal LTE service – with an additional layer of L-band for resiliency. NexusWave offers
high -speed connectivity, unlimited data, global coverage, and 'secure by design' infrastructure trusted by global enterprises and
governments.
You will work in a global cross functional development team, and interact directly with your peers within Access Edge Maritime
Engineering to create the best possible service in a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate is required to work on key Viasat Edge and shore-side (AWS and HybridCloud) solutions.
You are expected to be familiar with networking, software and communication hardware.
The day-to-day
- Ability to focus building solutions around performance with scale considerations in mind.
- Ability to work on distributed remote agile teams with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- Embracing the DevOps philosophy of product development, in addition to your design development activities you are also required
- Create and discuss trade offs with Low level designs around solutions to be made to work in Linux environment, in vessel and across clouds.
- 10+ years of software development experience with exposure of building applications at scale in C++ or Golang.
- Strong understanding of design trade-offs, preparing LLDs for solving problem statements and discuss their trade offs in design
- Good exposure to Docker, deploying solutions via Docker
- Good exposure to Linux toolsets to automate build processes around a solution
- Experience in developing restful services
- Knowledge on Openstack and AWS is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to solve problems with understanding design trade offs while choosing a solution.
- Experience in implementing solutions that can fail fast, building strong pipelines and unit testing capabilities.
- Prior working experience in a DevOps team is a plus
