Indexed description

You develop modern C++17/20 software for Linux-based embedded systems used in our autonomous Stingray shuttle solutions. Your work goes beyond coding: you will interact directly with the physical shuttle systems, analyze system behavior, debug software in conjunction with hardware, sensors, and actuators, and contribute to ensuring the reliable operation of our high-performance shuttles in demanding industrial environments.

The position includes an intensive onboarding phase in Wels, Austria, as well as regular travel to the site for collaboration and coordination with relevant departments.

What you'll be handling:

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance modern embedded software in C++17/20 for Linux-based high-performance shuttle systems, leveraging a modern technology stack including Docker as well as bare-metal and RTOS components.
  • Analyze, debug, and optimize system behavior directly on the shuttle, considering the interaction of software, operating systems, hardware, sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive automated testing strategies (Unit Tests, HIL, SIL), including detailed analysis and interpretation of test results.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and develop sustainable technical solution concepts.
  • Actively contribute to agile product development projects with a focus on embedded systems and provide technical input to product and system design.

What you'll need:

  • Completed education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of modern C++17/20, gained through professional experience, academic studies, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, embedded software development, Linux-based systems, and low-level/system-near programming.
  • Ability to systematically analyze technical challenges involving software, operating systems, and hardware interactions.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, a structured and self-driven working style, and a high commitment to quality.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level).

What you'll receive:

  • Participation in an agile development team, latitude, clear objectives and regular feedback
  • Good transport connections, free parking, shuttle service between TGW locations, e-bikes, etc.
  • An appreciative working environment, motivated team and an open feedback culture
  • Working with high-quality IT equipment and the latest technologies
