They are currently expanding their Artificial Intelligence team and are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Software Developer to play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of their advanced AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, implementing, and deploying high-performance deep learning models for complex biomedical imaging tasks, including 3D image segmentation and geometric analysis.
- Taking ownership of large machine learning software components, including architecture, implementation, validation, and integration into production workflows.
- Developing clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Python and/or C++, following software engineering best practices.
- Working independently on challenging technical problems, evaluating trade-offs and influencing project direction.
- Contributing to high-impact research and development efforts, with the potential for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentoring junior developers and researchers on software development practices and machine learning workflows.
- Staying current with advances in medical imaging AI and introducing relevant new methods to the team.
- An MSc or PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science.
- At least 4 years of post-academic professional experience designing and building machine learning systems for medical imaging or related scientific applications.
- Advanced programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong experience with medical imaging data and standards, such as DICOM.
- A proven ability to architect and own end-to-end ML systems, from data ingestion through to deployment.
- A solid understanding of deep learning methods for medical imaging, including segmentation, classification, and registration.
- Experience with scalable ML infrastructure, MLOps practices, containerization, or model serving.
- Familiarity with experiment tracking and data pipelines.

- Base salary: c.$150,000 CAD
