Senior Software Engineer (C++)

Job Description

General Info

We are developing a breakthrough imaging and 3D technology platform currently under provisional patent. This is a senior-level, general-purpose software engineering role with strong exposure to machine learning systems. The position focuses on building robust, scalable software across backend, data, and application layers, while collaborating closely with ML engineers, GPU infrastructure teams, and product engineers. You will help translate ML-driven ideas into reliable, production-ready systems and have opportunities to deepen your involvement in applied machine learning over time.

Must be a Hungarian or EU citizen; visas outside the EU are NOT offered for this position.

Tasks

System Development & Architecture

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems that support ML-powered features and high-performance applications.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions across backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and compute-intensive components.
• Implement clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
• Review designs and code to ensure engineering best practices, long-term maintainability, and technical excellence.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of professional software engineering experience, building production systems end to end.
• Strong proficiency in C++.
• Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, and data-intensive systems.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, workflows, or production ML systems (training, inference, or evaluation).

• Strong software architecture and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reason about complex systems.
• Comfort working in a confidential, research-driven, and fast-evolving environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with ML specialists, infrastructure engineers, and product teams.
• Interest in machine learning and data-driven systems, with motivation to grow deeper expertise over time.
• High level of ownership, curiosity, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Additional Preferred Experience

• Experience working in early-stage startup or innovation lab environments.
• Track record of delivering first-of-its-kind products or platforms.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Hungary, with fluent English knowledge, both written and orally.
