Job Title: Robotics Software Engineer
Location: Leuven, Belgium
Contract Length: 12-24 Months
Rate: €650/day
Experienced Robotics Software Engineer with 5+ years of expertise developing autonomous and intelligent robotic systems. Strong background in ROS/ROS2, real-time software development, motion planning, perception, computer vision, and machine learning. Proven track record of delivering robotics solutions from prototype through production in industrial automation, autonomous systems, or advanced R&D environments. Skilled at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across software, hardware, AI, and mechanical engineering.
Qualification
- Strong foundation in Robotics, including design, integration, and control of robotic system.
- Excellent Analytical Skills for problem-solving, data analysis, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Process Automation, including implementing and improving automated workflows.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts.
- Clearly Proficiency in Software Development relevant to robotics (e.g., C/C++, Python, ROS, PLC programming).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and industrial automation environments is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to robotic and automated systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in the Leuven and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadline
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robotics software for autonomous and intelligent robotic systems.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for navigation, perception, localization, and motion control.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and hardware components into robotic platforms.
- Develop applications using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python in Linux environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, AI, and systems engineers
- Test, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and technical documentation. Support deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of robotics solutions.
