We are looking for a Senior Engineer Lead - Firmware Developer with solid experience in embedded software development and technical leadership to lead a team dedicated to the development and optimisation of control solutions for brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in embedded software/firmware development;
- 3 years of experience in technical leadership or team management;
- Solid experience in Brushless DC (BLDC) motor control and Field-Oriented Control (FOC);
- Experience in Model-Based Design (MBD), preferably using MATLAB/Simulink;
- Experience in bare-metal development and knowledge of Safety RTOS and AUTOSAR;
- Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems development;
- Experience with automated testing in a Linux environment;
- Knowledge of Functional Safety and ISO 26262;
- Experience with ARM microcontrollers/processors, preferably STM and/or Infineon;
- Knowledge of CAN communication protocols and other embedded system protocols;
- Experience in technical leadership, problem-solving skills and working with multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the automotive or industrial sectors;
- Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 13849 and ISO 21434;
- Knowledge of ASIL;
- Experience with CANopen, EtherCAT, J1939, UDS, EtherNet/IP, UART, SPI and I2C;
- Knowledge of Jira/Jama and Agile methodologies;
- Experience with tools such as IAR, Code Composer Studio and CANalyzer.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership to a team of 5 software developers specialising in BLDC motor control systems;
- Develop and optimise FOC control algorithms, using Model-Based Design (MBD) and simulation;
- Oversee the transition from a bare-metal platform to Safety RTOS and AUTOSAR;
- Implement an automated testing strategy in a Linux environment, ensuring the robustness of critical software;
- Collaborate with Hardware, Systems and other teams in defining development and testing solutions and strategies;
- Ensure the application of best practices and Functional Safety standards, notably ISO 26262;
- Support the development of new solutions and products, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.
Hybrid project (1/2 days a week in the office) - Vila do Conde, Porto.
Salary range: 65 000,00€ annual gross.
