Exchange Connectivity Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Exchange Connectivity Developer to join our high-performance engineering team in New York.

You will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining ultra-low latency exchange connectivity for global cryptocurrency markets, working closely with traders and quantitative researchers to deliver reliable, high-performance execution infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop low-latency exchange connectivity for cryptocurrency venues.
• Implement and maintain FIX and native binary exchange protocols.
• Optimise market data and order entry performance.
• Improve resiliency, monitoring and failover capabilities.
• Collaborate with trading, quantitative research and infrastructure teams.
• Support onboarding of new exchanges and trading venues.
• Diagnose production issues and continuously improve system performance.

Requirements

• 2–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong C++ development skills.
• Experience developing exchange connectivity for electronic trading.
• Deep understanding of FIX protocol and exchange APIs.
• Experience working within HFT, proprietary trading or crypto trading firms.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Linux and performance optimisation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience with crypto exchange connectivity.
• Experience with native binary protocols.
• Understanding of market microstructure.
• Experience working in latency-sensitive environments.
