The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising high-performance systems that power automated trading and research platforms. You'll work across a broad range of technical problems, from low-level performance optimisation and networking through to distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing ultra-low latency C++ applications
- Building and enhancing automated trading and market data systems
- Optimising system performance across the software stack
- Developing scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure and services
- Working closely with researchers and other engineers to deliver new functionality
- Improving tooling, monitoring, testing, and operational reliability
- Contributing to the architecture of distributed systems handling large volumes of real-time data
- Participating in code reviews and helping maintain high engineering standards
- Strong commercial experience developing software in modern C++
- Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and systems programming
- Experience building high-performance, low latency, or distributed systems
- Strong Linux knowledge and familiarity with networking concepts
- Passion for solving difficult technical problems
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals and clean coding practices
- Experience with multithreading, performance profiling, and optimisation
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- Experience within trading, fintech, HFT, market making, or quantitative finance
- Knowledge of market data, exchange connectivity, or trading infrastructure
- Familiarity with performance-sensitive network programming
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems
