Indexed description

I've partnered with a leading quantitative trading firm looking to hire a Low-Level C++ Software Engineer to work on some of the highest-performance systems in the industry.

This isn't an application development role. It's for engineers who enjoy working close to the hardware - optimizing operating systems, networking, CPU performance, and distributed systems where every microsecond matters.

You'll join a small, highly technical team responsible for building the core infrastructure that powers real-time trading at massive scale.

What you'll work on:

• Building and optimizing low-level C++ systems where latency and throughput are critical

• Improving operating system, networking, and CPU performance across production environments

• Profiling and tuning software using hardware performance counters and advanced tooling

• Designing high-performance distributed systems and network applications

• Working with technologies such as kernel bypass, user-space networking, and high-speed packet processing

• Collaborating with world-class engineers to solve complex systems programming challenges

What they're looking for:

• Expert C++ development experience with strong systems programming fundamentals

• Deep understanding of Linux/UNIX internals, computer architecture, memory, and concurrency

• Experience building or optimizing high-performance, low-latency applications

• Familiarity with networking stacks, kernel bypass, DPDK, RDMA, InfiniBand, Solarflare/OpenOnload, or similar technologies is a strong plus

• Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills

• Engineers who enjoy understanding how software interacts with hardware at the lowest levels

Why this opportunity stands out:

• Solve some of the hardest performance engineering problems in industry

• Small engineering teams with exceptional technical ownership and autonomy

• Exposure to cutting-edge CPU, networking, and operating system optimization

• Work alongside some of the strongest low-level engineers in the world

• Highly competitive compensation with outstanding long-term career growth

If you're passionate about systems programming, performance engineering, and writing C++ that pushes modern hardware to its limits, I'd be happy to tell you more.
