Responsibilities
- Act as the central point of contact for the Stock Control System for all code conversion activities for the Cloud in addition to the continuing support of the current mainframe environment, with a specific focus on the D035K portion of the Stock Control System.
- Train the SCS QT&E Subject Matter Expert (SME) team on the detailed inner workings of both the current mainframe environment and the newly modernized Cloud environment being deployed in the coming months.
- Interact with the SCS SME team and the support contractor to assist with the ongoing production support of SCS. This includes the JAVA version of the system software to verify that the maintenance and enhancements have been successfully applied to both the mainframe and cloud versions.
- Communicate with the other members of the SCS SME Team to assist with QT&E (Qualitative Test and Evaluation) testing and documentation of test completion.
- Review JAVA, JavaScript, and PYTHON code for software and test peer reviews, and train other members of the SME team to be proficient when performing these reviews.
- Respond to Program Manager requests for analysis of system transactions and processing rejects and train the existing SME team members to perform these same tasks, with a specific focus on the D035K portion of the Stock Control System.
- Train the SCS SME Team members to research/resolve D035K site issues when the users at the production sites report system problems. This will be done with the support and collaboration of the sustainment contractor personnel. This will also include the writing of problem reports in the JIRA/Confluence tool set.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Successfully complete a T1 Public Trust background check or higher.
- Working knowledge in use of Java.
- Working knowledge in use of PL/SQL
- Working knowledge in use of COBOL, IDEAL??C++, JCL.
- Ability to support both the original mainframe version of the Stock Control System and the new Cloud based version of the Stock Control System during the transition process.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with Customers as well as other delivery teams involved in the problem resolution process.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work in a high stress and changing environment.
- Detailed working knowledge of USAF Logistics Systems. Specifically, the SCS/D035K.
- Experience with Business and Enterprise System (BES) Directorate’s lifecycle management process in an agile environment.
- Proficient in use of Java, Oracle Developer.
- Proficient in use of PL/SQL
- Proficient in use of COBOL, IDEAL??C++, JCL.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft ACCESS.
- Working knowledge of JIRA/Confluence.
- Agile trained and/or certified.
- Effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and specialists.
- Work independently to accomplish tasks.
