Job Title: Software Engineer III
Location: Cape Canaveral, Florida
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Software Engineer III. This role focuses on modernizing and sustaining EGSE software to improve efficiency, security, automation, and scalability for missile test and ground operations. The ideal candidate will have strong multilanguage programming experience, background in software requirements and lifecycle development, and the ability to work in a fast paced, integrated engineering environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Support the EGSE organization as a software engineer contributing to ground support systems for the FBM program.
- Contribute to modernization efforts aimed at achieving greater efficiency, security, automation, and scalability within EGSE software.
- Collaborate with a cross functional team of software, systems, electrical, and test engineers using Agile development methodologies.
- Coordinate with product line managers and engineering directorates to understand and support program needs and priorities.
- Participate in project teams and development efforts across the full product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
- Develop software requirements, concepts of operations (CONOPs), and software design documentation as needed.
- Perform issue tracking and troubleshooting to resolve defects and improve system reliability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, Java, TestStand.
- Experience working on project teams and development efforts.
- Experience with at least one of the following: developing software requirements, CONOPs, and software design.
- Experience across the product life cycle, including development, deployment, and retirement.
- Experience with issue tracking and troubleshooting in software environments.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
