About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale backend systems, with a focus on cloud computing and API development. This position will start as an employee of Robert Half for 6 months and then convert to an employee of the client.

Must have skills:

• Strategic Career Development as an Engineer: Proven work history showing career progression in backend or software engineering roles, emphasizing learning, professional development, and contributions to increasingly complex projects.
• Ability to articulate a clear trajectory of achievements in solving system or architectural challenges in previous roles.
• Large-Scale Backend Development: Experience building and maintaining large-scale enterprise systems with advanced architecture, addressing challenges such as scalability, multi-system integration, data flow optimization, and fault tolerance.
• Expertise in APIs: Demonstrated experience developing and optimizing REST APIs (GraphQL familiarity is a strong plus). Knowledge of integration strategies to enhance backend systems interoperable with client applications.
• Cloud Computing and AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience deploying cloud-native backend systems using AWS Core Services (e.g., Lambda, ECS/S3, DynamoDB, etc.). He's open to Azure heavy candidates.
• Multi-Language Development: Proficiency working with at least two or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or .NET), with flexibility to work on legacy systems if needed.
• Problem-Solving for Complex Systems: Ability to discuss prior challenges related to backend systems and the approaches taken to overcome scalability, concurrency, or performance issues effectively.
• DevOps Knowledge and CI/CD Implementation: Ability to engineer automated pipelines and infrastructure as code to ensure reliable and repeatable deployments in production environments.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with modern Angular frameworks (though this is primarily a backend-focused role).
• Knowledge of database technologies like Oracle/SQL and handling large-scale data processing.
• Experience using Docker for containerized applications.
• Exposure to AI-driven development tools or frameworks to eliminate bottlenecks and innovate workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of testing strategies (e.g., unit, integration, performance testing) for high-quality systems.
