Engineering Manager – Platform / DevEx

As a Hands-on Engineering Manager, you will lead a small, high-impact platform team responsible for evolving the internal developer platform. This is a technical leadership role where you will combine engineering excellence, product thinking, and people leadership to remove friction, accelerate delivery, and improve developer satisfaction.

You will operate as a engineering leader, contributing directly to the codebase while shaping strategy, mentoring engineers, and partnering across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Hands-on Contribution

• Actively contribute to the design and development of internal platform services, tooling, and frameworks
• Build reusable building blocks, backbone libraries, and SDKs (C#, .NET Core, TypeScript / Node.js)
• Design scalable platform patterns, service boundaries, and golden paths (CI/CD, IaC, workflows)
• Drive the adoption of self-service capabilities that enable teams to build, deploy, and operate services in minutes
• Leverage AI and automation to improve developer productivity and reduce SDLC friction

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead and grow a small team (3–5 engineers), fostering a high-performance engineering culture
• Mentor engineers, helping them grow in both technical and product mindset
• Create a collaborative environment where engineers thrive and contribute ideas
• Ensure strong communication and alignment within the team and across stakeholders
• Balance delivery, quality, and team wellbeing

Strategy & Platform Product Thinking

• Define and execute the platform vision and roadmap aligned to developer needs
• Treat the platform as a product—understanding internal users (engineers) through feedback and data
• Partner with product teams, DevOps, Security, and QA to reduce dependencies and streamline workflows
• Identify friction points across the developer journey and drive high-impact improvements
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and platform consistency across teams

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 10+ years in software engineering, with strong experience in platform engineering or DevEx
• Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Manager in high-performing teams
• Proven track record of building internal platforms, developer tooling, or reusable services
• Experience leading engineers while remaining technically hands-on

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Core, TypeScript (Node.js)
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Knowledge of observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, ELK)
• Familiarity with AI-driven engineering workflows and automation
• Strong understanding of scalable architectures and platform design
