AI Automation Engineer
Indexed description
What You Need
- Hands-on experience shipping real AI systems, agents, or automations, not just demos.
- Strong workflow automation experience in n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar orchestration tools.
- Strong GitHub discipline. Public or shareable GitHub work is required for this process.
- Comfort with AI coding environments such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to connect APIs, structure data, write lightweight scripts, and debug broken workflows.
- Clear written communication across time zones. You can keep stakeholders informed without meetings for everything.
- Business judgment. You ask what outcome the workflow should create before choosing tools.
Projects
Manukora is a global wellness brand built around ethically sourced Manuka honey. We sell direct-to-consumer, on Amazon, and through retail partners across the US, GCC, and UK.
This role sits inside AI & Systems and reports to the Head of AI & Systems. You will help build the automations, agents, workflows, and shared practices behind our internal AgentOS.
The work spans marketing, supply chain, finance, operations, commercial, customer experience, and people systems. We are looking for a hands-on builder who can turn messy business requests into practical, reliable systems.
What You'll Own
- Build AI agents, automations, and workflows from intake through launch and maintenance.
- Work directly with stakeholders to clarify the problem, scope the build, and define success.
- Use tools such as n8n, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, APIs, structured prompts, GitHub, and data workflows.
- Version work in GitHub with clear commits, useful README files, setup notes, and documented assumptions.
- Maintain production automations, including monitoring, alerts, failure handling, and documentation.
- Contribute reusable prompts, skills, runbooks, and patterns to our shared AI & Systems library.
- Keep data hygiene, permissions, credentials, and information security front of mind in every build.
Conditions
Location: Remote, preferred in Mexico, Central America, or South America for Pacific Time overlap.
Employment: Full-time global contractor. Candidates must be able to contract through Deel and physically perform the work from a supported country.
Compensation: USD 48,000 to 58,000 contractor equivalent, depending on experience.
This role needs regular overlap with US Pacific Time so you can work closely with the Head of AI & Systems, plus enough async overlap to support our New Zealand team.
Nice To Have
- Experience inside a DTC, CPG, ecommerce, supply chain, finance, or operations environment.
- SQL, data pipeline, RAG, vector database, or warehouse experience.
- Experience building reusable prompt libraries, internal tools, or agent operating systems.
- Experience with Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Shopify, Cin7, Gorgias, or similar business systems.
- Enough product sense to make internal tools simple for non-technical teams to use.
