Test Automation Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Design and manage end-to-end test strategies across all levels (Unit, Integration, System, UI, Stress, Performance) for medical software products
• Develop and maintain test harnesses and CI pipelines for C++ Desktop, .NET, and modern web stacks
• Plan, implement, and analyze load and performance tests to identify bottlenecks and drive quality improvements
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and product management to champion test-driven "shift-left" engineering practices
• Utilize AI agents and tools like Claude Code to generate, maintain, and triage tests, building reusable automation skills and workflows for the QA community

What You'll Need

• Several years of senior-level experience in test automation with deep understanding of multi-layered test frameworks
• Proven experience in load and performance testing, ideally in regulated or safety-critical environments
• Excellent university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field
• Strong programming skills in at least one language (C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript) and experience with modern test tools (e.g., Ranorex, Playwright, Cypress)
• Demonstrable effective use of AI in QA workflows, experience with AI-pipelines, test harnesses, and context engineering
• Fluent German and English communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and innovative mindset
