Job Description
KabuK Style is building the next generation infrastructure for the global travel industry.
Our flagship product, HafH, already connects over 30,000 accommodations across 130+ countries and serves a rapidly growing international customer base. As we scale, we are developing a new B2B platform that powers travel distribution, supplier integrations, pricing optimization, and booking infrastructure for partners around the world.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer, Travel Integrations & Distribution to help build the supplier connectivity, partner APIs, PMS/extranet backend capabilities, and distribution services that power KabuK Exchange.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys complex partner integrations, API normalization, booking flows, reliability, and solving messy real-world travel technology problems.
You will play a key role in connecting KabuK Exchange with hotel suppliers, channel managers, wholesalers, B2C products, and B2B distribution partners.
This role will likely sit within the Supply & Distribution Platform team.
The Supply & Distribution Platform team owns the systems that connect hotel supply to demand channels reliably, accurately, and at scale.
The Team’s Scope Includes:
- Supplier integrations
- Channel manager integrations
- Distributor APIs
- PMS/extranet distribution controls
- Availability and rate ingestion
- Rate and availability normalization
- Booking and reservation operational lifecycle
- Partner API contracts
- Distribution eligibility rules
- Hotel onboarding technical flows
- Supplier integrations
- Channel manager integrations
- Hotel inventory and availability flows
- Rate and pricing input ingestion
- Supplier API normalization
- Distributor APIs
- PMS and extranet distribution controls
- Booking creation, modification, cancellation, and operational workflows
- Error handling, retries, alerts, and integration monitoring
- Integration documentation and partner-facing API behavior
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend integrations with travel suppliers, channel managers, and distribution partners.
- Normalize inconsistent supplier APIs into stable internal platform models.
- Design robust workflows for availability, rate ingestion, booking, modification, cancellation, and reconciliation handoff.
- Handle edge cases around supplier errors, timeouts, inventory mismatches, booking ambiguity, and partner API inconsistencies.
- Develop clean, well-documented APIs for internal services and external partners.
- Work closely with product managers and business teams to understand partner requirements.
- Collaborate with QA to build reliable integration test coverage.
- Help define integration standards, API contracts, retry patterns, and operational playbooks.
- Support production issue investigation and improve long-term platform resilience.
- Contribute to backend architecture decisions for scalable travel distribution.
- Review code and support engineering quality across internal and outsourced engineering teams.
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong experience building and maintaining production APIs or third-party integrations.
- Experience with C# / .NET, or willingness to work with an existing .NET-based backend.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML payloads, authentication, error handling, and integration reliability.
- Experience designing systems that interact with external partners, vendors, or platforms.
- Strong debugging skills and comfort working through ambiguous integration issues.
- Ability to reason clearly about data mapping, edge cases, retries, timeouts, monitoring, and operational resilience.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation for internal and partner-facing use.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage platform environment.
- Conversational English ability.
- Experience in travel technology, hospitality, OTA, hotel systems, channel managers, PMS, CRS, or booking platforms.
- Experience with hotel supplier APIs, wholesaler APIs, distributor APIs, or channel manager integrations.
- Experience with Go, Java, Kotlin, or other modern backend languages.
- Experience with event-driven processing, queues, retries, and asynchronous workflows.
- Experience with AWS or cloud-based production systems.
- Experience working with outsourced or distributed engineering teams.
- Japanese or Korean language ability.
The platform will support hotels, travel suppliers, channel managers, distributors, internal products, and future white-label services. Our goal is to build reliable travel distribution infrastructure that can scale across Japan, Asia, and global demand markets.
Travel integrations are complex, inconsistent, and operationally critical. This role gives you the opportunity to work on the systems that make real hotel distribution possible: supplier connectivity, rate ingestion, booking reliability, partner APIs, PMS distribution controls, and channel distribution.
You will have significant influence over how KabuK Exchange connects with the global travel ecosystem and how we scale from internal usage to external distribution partners.
If you enjoy building reliable backend systems that connect real businesses, real inventory, and real transactions, this role offers a strong opportunity to help shape a platform from an early stage.
