Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of our next-generation storage software platform. In this strategic role you will define system architecture, drive technology decisions, and collaborate closely with engineering, product management, validation, and leadership teams.
You will play a key role in shaping scalable, high-performance, and reliable software solutions across operating systems, drivers, firmware, storage stacks, and hardware-software integration layers.
What You’ll Do:
- Define and own the architecture of system software solutions across the product portfolio
- Drive technical strategy and long-term architectural roadmaps
- Design scalable, high-performance, and resilient storage software systems
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams
- Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, validation, and DevOps teams to ensure end-to-end system design consistency
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and architectural approaches
- Define software frameworks, design patterns, and engineering best practices
- Guide system performance optimization, scalability, security, and reliability initiatives
- Support complex root cause analysis and resolution of critical system-level issues
- Mentor senior engineers and contribute to the growth of engineering talent across the organization
- Partner with product management and customers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in system software development, with significant architectural responsibilities
- Expert-level knowledge of C and/or C++
- Strong understanding of operating systems architecture, kernel concepts, memory management, concurrency, and virtualization technologies
- Proven experience designing large-scale, complex software systems
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and system integration
- Experience with Linux, Windows, and/or UEFI environments
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise storage technologies, RAID solutions, NVMe, PCIe, or distributed storage architectures
- Knowledge of firmware, drivers, and hardware-software co-design
- Experience with performance engineering and system optimization
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms
- Experience leading cross-functional technical programs in a global environment
- Understanding of security architecture and reliability engineering principles
- Experience working in Agile development environments
