Backend Developer (.NET / Azure / AI)

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our engineering team at Bitlab.

You will be responsible for designing and building scalable backend systems, APIs, and cloud services that power enterprise web applications and AI-enabled digital platforms. Depending on your experience, you will also have the opportunity to work with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AI Search, intelligent document processing, and modern cloud architectures.

This role offers exposure across the full software development lifecycle - from solution design and implementation to cloud deployment, AI integration, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using .NET technologies.
• Build secure, high-performance web applications and enterprise digital platforms.
• Design and optimise databases, data models and application architecture.
• Integrate third-party systems, enterprise APIs and cloud services.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, UX designers, frontend developers and Solution Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews and architecture improvements.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system performance, scalability and reliability.
• Develop cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Contribute to AI-enabled solutions by integrating Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AI Search, Document Intelligence and other Azure AI services where applicable.
• Stay current with modern backend technologies, cloud platforms and AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of backend or web application development experience. (Fresh graduates with strong technical fundamentals and project experience are encouraged to apply.)
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns and clean coding principles.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of software architecture, application security and performance optimisation.
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
• Passion for learning new technologies, especially cloud and AI.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure
