Job description:

Client is seeking a Senior Developer with strong experience in AWS cloud-native application development and TypeScript to support the design and development of the NAEP platform.

In this role, you will work closely with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. You will contribute to technical design decisions, develop high-quality backend services, and help ensure engineering has best practices across the team. The ideal candidate is passionate about building modern cloud-native systems, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and thrives in a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-native applications on AWS using modern architecture patterns such as microservices, event-driven, and serverless architectures
• Build scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Develop and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on application architecture and design
• Integrate backend services with frontend applications and other platform components
• Work with multiple data storage technologies, including Amazon S3, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing
• Ensure applications meet security, reliability, scalability, and performance standards
• Work within Agile development teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and frequent releases
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud computing and distributed systems
• Collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges and continuously improve engineering practices

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript development
• 4+ years of experience developing applications using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Strong experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS
• Experience developing serverless applications on AWS, including:
• API Gateway
• AWS Lambda
• SQS
• SNS
• IAM roles and permissions
