Skills And Competencies

• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience building scalable, production-grade systems
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET or Java, with expertise in object-oriented design, clean coding practices, and service-oriented architectures
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Proven ability to own features and services throughout the software development lifecycle, from design through production support
• Strong foundation in system design, algorithms, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities within Agile engineering environments

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable backend services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS platform
• Own significant features and technical components from architecture through production operations
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and customer-focused solutions
• Contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical standards across the platform
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices throughout the organization
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, security, reliability, and observability requirements in cloud environments

The Platform Engineering team provides the core services and infrastructure that support Moody’s Insurance Solutions products. The team focuses on enabling scalability, accelerating product delivery, and building resilient services that power the company’s technology ecosystem.
